    RAs (Resident Assistants) are Japanese students who lives on the same floor as they will assist and support you during your time in Japan. If you encounter any cultural differences or have difficulty with the language, feel free to contact them.

    Registration of bicycle and motorcycle​
    自転車/バイクの登録

    As no one can park bicycles or motorcycles on the parking lot without registration, registration of your bicycle or motorcycle is needed at the Administration Office.

    • Papers needed when registering your bicycle or motorcycle is the receipt of the security registration issued when purchasing. Or when acquired by transfer, bring your bicycle and the certification of transfer to the nearest bicycle shop and proceed the security registration. A form of the certification of transfer can be obtained here. Security registration costs 660 yen.
    • If you don't have the certification of transfer, the security registration can be proceeded by bringing the bicycle and the identification issued by the Japanese government, such as the driver's license, my number card, or the Residence Card.
    • After the registration, a sticker that proves the registration will be issued. Stick it on the body or the frame of your bicycle or motorcycle.
    • In Japan, it is mandatory for all motorcycle owners to take out the Automobile Liability Insurance or Mutual Aid (Jibaiseki Hoken or Kyosai), and all bicycle owners to take out an insurance or a mutual aid to compensate damages concerning bicycle accidents (Bicycle Insurance). For further information, access the webpage of the Metropolitan Police Agency and the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure, Transportation and Tourism.


    登録されていない自転車やバイクを駐輪場に置くことはできませんので自転車やバイクを所有されている方は管理センターにて登録をお願いします。

    • 登録に必要な書類は、新品の場合は購入時の防犯登録で受け取る控え、譲渡の場合は譲渡証明書と自転車を自転車店へ持ち込み防犯登録をしてください。譲渡証明書の書式はこちら。防犯登録料は660円となっています。
    • 譲渡証明書がない場合は、自転車本体と運転免許証や健康保険証など公的機関発行の身分証明書、外国人居住者の方は在留カードを自転車販売店へ持参し防犯登録を行ってください。
    • 登録後、所定のシールをお渡ししますので車体のわかりやすい場所へ貼り付けてください。
    • 日本では、バイクの所有者に対し自動車損害賠償責任保険・共済への、自転車の所有者に対し自転車の利用によって生じた損害を賠償するための保険・共済（自転車保険）への加入が関連法規・条例に基づき義務付けられています。日本人居住者の方で自動車保険や火災保険などへ加入されている方は特約により自転車事故の補償が受けられることがあります。詳細は警視庁のホームページと国土交通省のホームページを参照してください。

    Bedding sets for purchase​
    寝具セット購入

    Your room includes at least one single bed, measuring 1m x 2.1m. The number of beds varies by room type:

      • Single A & B rooms: One bed
      • Couple C room: Two beds
      • Family D room: Three beds

    Please note that you must arrange the bedding on your own. This includes:

      • A comforter, duvet, or blanket (we recommend a warm one, as Japanese winters can be cold).
      • A pillow and pillowcase.
      • A bed pad or mattress cover.
      • Extra sheets are also a good idea for when you do laundry.

    Purchasing Your Bedding

    You have a few options for getting your bedding.

    • Option 1: Purchase and Carry It Yourself

    The simplest way is to buy bedding at a local store and bring it back to your room. This allows you to set up your bed immediately at any time you like.

    Here are a few stores near TIEC where you can find bedding:

      • Nitori Aqua City Odaiba Store: 1.3km away, open 11:00 AM - 8:00 PM
      • Aeon Shinonome: 4.7km away, open 24/7
      • Super Vivahome Toyosu: 6.1km away, open 6:30 AM - 9:00 PM
    • Option 2: Order Online for Delivery

    You can also order bedding online or by phone and have it delivered. Be aware that delivery may take up to a week.


    Important: Please arrange for the delivery to arrive after your move-in date. We cannot store any item for you in advance. If you need bedding on the day you move in, please guarantee it arrives on time.

    If you are coming from overseas, you could ask a friend in Japan to order for you, or you can order from an e-commerce site yourself. Just remember that photos online may not perfectly match the product and returns or exchanges may not be possible.

    • Option 3: Use the TIEC Bedding Purchase Service

    A special service is available for TIEC residents. You can order bedding online through their dedicated website, and it will be delivered directly to your room on your move-in day.

    With this service, you can purchase multiple sets at once. Also, there will be an added benefit that the bedding will be delivered to your room on the day you move in. Also, disposing of bedding through the local municipality (Koto-ku) can cost you about 800 yen per set. To purchase the sticker for the over-sized garbage, please refer to the local convinient stores.

    • Dispose of the bedding set when you move out as a large-sized garbage if you want.
    • Do not put them into Garbage chute.

    Green Market is held at the square of TIEC on Tuesday and Saturday: 18:30-21:30

    In case of not being held, notice will be put up at the 1st floor elevator lobby of each halls.

    TIECの中庭に週２回(火曜日/土曜日 18:30-21:30)トラックでの野菜果物販売があります。

    日程の変更やキャンセルなどの場合は各棟のエレベーターホールに掲示します。

    Public Bath near TIEC


    The choice for the public bath around TIEC is quite limited. And some popular places are:

    • hotel MONday premium Toyosu
      • 500 JPY for workdays, and 1000 JPY for weekends and holidays.
      • 3:00 PM - 11:00 PM (Last admission at 10:00 PM)
      • Guests with tattoo are asked to use foundation sheets (150 JPY) sold at the front desk.
    • ​MANYO Club
      • 3,350 JPY (Special Discount for Residents living in Koto-Ku, until Sep. 30th, 2025.)
      • 3,850 JPY for normal price.
      • 1,500 JPY for workdays, and 2,200 JPY for weekends and holidays with Special Discount for Residents living in Koto-Ku
      • 2,600 JPY for workdays and 3,800 for weekend and holidays.

    ​Tokyo Waterfront Area Rapid Transit

    Tokyo Waterfront Area Rapid Transit (TWR) is a railway system that connects the waterfront area to the central area of Tokyo. The nearest TWR station is Tokyo Teleport Station, which is about 15 minutes walking away from the TIEC. 


    For going to the central Tokyo area, you can transfer to the JR Saikyo Line via direct Operation or Yamanote Line at Osaki St. To go to Tokyo Institute of Science, you can transfer Tokyu Oimachi Line and head for Kanagawa prefecture via JR Keihin–Tōhoku Line at Oimachi St. To go to Haneda Airport, you can go to Tennozu Isle St. and transfer to Tokyo Monorail. By going to the Shin-Kiba St., you can transfer to the Tokyo Metro Yurakucho Line or going to the Chiba Prefecture by JR Keiyo Line.

     

    [Regarding the Out-of-Service, 回送] There is change for the train terminate at Tokyo Teleport St. and became "Out of Service". If you see the "Out of Service" or "回送" in the display, which means the train will go back to the base instead of the next station. Therefore, when you encounter such situation, please wait to the next train. 

    新交通ゆりかもめ
    ​New Transit Yurikamome

    The New Transit Yurikamome is a transportation system that is autonomously operated and there are no human operators (seldomly are). It connects Shimbashi station, thru Odaiba to Toyosu. The nearest station from TIEC is Tokyo International Cruise Terminal Station (U08)

    ゆりかもめは自律運転により無人で運行されている旅客運送システムです。新橋駅からお台場を経由して豊洲駅までをつないでいます。TIECの最寄り駅は東京国際クルーズターミナル駅です。

    If you'd like to print photos or documents, then go to the convenience store. Most of Japan's convenience stores offer outlet for copying and printing.
