    Introduction  ​初めに

    Welcome to Tokyo International Exchange Center (TIEC). To help you move in TEIC smoothly, we summarize the process you need to do as follow:

    1. Book the day for the Orientation
    2. Check room equipment and maintenance policy
    3. Prepare documents needed for orientation
    4. (Optional) Bedding and Internet service
    5. Watch the introductory video for TIEC
    6. Read the supplemental documents
    7. Come to TIEC at your booked orientation time 😊

    1. Book Your Move-In Orienation Day

    We will send an email with a link to book a date and time for Move-in Orientation to those permitted to reside at TIEC.  


    Pleases be advised that move-in to your TIEC room is not permitted prior to the first day of the residence admission period.


    Room Key Pickup:You can pick up your room keys any time once your residence permission period begins, even if you have not completed the move-in orientation yet. If you arrive after the Administration Office is closed, simply go to Security Office to receive your key. 

    2. Check Room Equipment and Maintenance Policy

    We summarize the important information you have to know in one page, please carefully review the document attached below.

    3. Prepare Documents Needed for Orientation

    3.1:  Face photos * 2  顔写真二枚  
    (approximately 3cm x 2.5cm)   

    The photos are important documents, and please bring it to the orientation;
    If there is case that you can not make it, please submit it later.
    - For those moving into Hall A and B: submit 2 face photos of yourself.
    - For those moving into Hall C and D: Submit 2 face photos for entire family members.

    Ensure the photos are trimmed beforehand. On the back of each photo, write your name and room number prior to attending the orientation. For your family members, write the name of each family member at the back along with your room number.

    3.2:  Residence card

    For those who is to move into Hall C and D, entire family if possible

    3.3: Bank book or card (Optional)​ 

    ※Bank information is not mandatory for the orientation , and only Japanese bank account is available for the auto debit.

    4:  Bedding purchase and Internet service (Optional) 

    4.1 Bedding

     You have lots of options to purchase bedding set. 

    ☞  If you want to buy bedding set by yourself

    ☞  Buy bedding via collaborated company with TIEC

    4.2 Internet

    If you would like to apply for the internet service. See ☞  here for details. 

    Remember that it will take about 2 weeks to receive a modem from the point you applied to @George. 

    5. Proceed the Move-out Application for Your Present Address (Optional) 

    For those who currently live in Japan, and plan to move-in TIEC domestically:

    According to the Japanese Move-in/Move-out policy, you are going to Move-out FIRST, then you can Move-in to the Koto ward, where TIEC located in.

    ​7. Come to TIEC at Your Booked Orientation Time 😊

    Please come to the TIEC Administration Office(管理センター) to receive the orientation. The nearest stations are Tokyo International Cruise Terminal Station(U08 東京国際クルーズターミナル駅) via YURIKAMOME (ゆりかもめ) or Tokyo Teleport Station (R04 東京テレポート駅) via TWR (りんかい線).

    You can collect your room key from the Security Office after hours (from 18:00 to 09:00 the following day, except on Sundays

    [Important NOTICE]

    *If you are unsure about moving in or would like to apply to withdraw, please be sure to contact the administration office and the responsible person at your university before your move-in date.

    FAQ

    Q1: Can I send my package before I arrive at TIEC?

    A1: No, sending packages or documents to your room at TIEC before your official move-in date is not permittedThe best alternative is to contact your shipping or logistics company and arrange a delivery time that precisely matches the date and time you move in.


    Q2:  Can I receive the orientation online?
    A2: We do not offer an online option for the move-in orientation. We kindly ask that you come to the TIEC Administration Office (管理センター) to receive your orientation in person.

    Q3: Can I visit the room before moving in?
    A3: Before receiving the key, it is prohibited to enter the room.  Residents at TIEC will be granted with their keys at least after the first day of the residency period. Ones without the key are allowed to enter the room. Therefore, for those who want to the room before receiving the key, please refer to the official page and description of TIEC by Jasso: Facility Guide | JASSO
